I found this beautiful wooden box in a thrift shop and gave it a little touch of mosaic. This box has a distressed wood appearance, man-made marks to look old and worn out, and decorative touches of metal corners. Its hinges allow 180 degree opening. I cleaned this box up and added a light coat of varnish to brighten up and give fresh look.
...and created a nautical abstract mosaic design -- a little orange sailboat surrounded by blue-green ocean waves. Each glass piece is hand cut and glued to glass-base box cover, grouted light grout and sealed.
